Disneyland is a very special place for us and our families. We cannot count the number of treasured memories we have collected over the years. It is a place that gives great anticipation to first-time visitors and the need to take a tiny piece home with you when that special time has come to an end. For younger kids, this is especially true and we believe we have a wonderful gift and souvenir that the whole family can enjoy to keep the magic going.

The first book we discovered was at “It’s a Small World” Toy shop near the exit of Disneyland’s “It’s a Small World” attraction. The cover caught our eye the moment we stepped into the shop and we were instantly enchanted by it. We were even more delighted to find out it was one in a series of six Disneyland attractions picture books. We now have the pleasure of bringing this beautiful series to you and your family to enjoy together.

Disney Parks Presents: It’s A Small World

Is a beautiful and colorful illustrated book that takes you around the world as experienced on the most beloved ride for all ages. The illustrations by artist, Joey Chou, is a bright and happy modern twist on Mary Blair’s original concept design as seeing the world through a child’s eye which can still be seen to this day on the ride.

Originally, this attraction was created for the 1964 New York World’s Fair UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) Pavilion, an organization that is working for a better tomorrow by helping the children of today. The included CD is the original theme song written by the Sherman Brother’s who wrote it for the children of the world. It has remained constant for the last fifty-five years.

Your children will enjoy seeing each page come to life as the music plays and they turn the lovely illustrated pages to travel around the world again and again.

A Kiss Goodnight

This book soars in a different direction than all the rest. It looks up to the stars and back to the past.  Illustrated by artist, Floyd Norman and the soundtrack by, Richard M. Sherman this is a story about Walt Disney’s journey and his love of fireworks.

It starts off when Walt was a little boy and one of the biggest joys in his life was to watch fireworks on the fourth of July. The illustrations are a black ink sketch style with the only splash of color being the thing Walt loved most. This story follows Walt’s journey all the way to him creating the magic place we all love, Disneyland.

A Kiss Goodnight is the fireworks show from Walt to all his guests. It is his way of thanking everyone for their visit. Richard Sherman heard this story about Walt’s wishes and created the song. The music, the story, and the illustrations are as magical as the firework shows at Disneyland
