Inspired By: Carbon Freeze and Infinity Fizz

Specialty drinks are always a unique treat when we visit Disneyland. Whether it is the newest flavor of Mint Julep to enjoy with a delicious seasonal beignet or a new Pirate Punch, it’s always an adventure to try something new. The drinks that the kids ask for on every visit are the Carbon Freeze and the Infinity Fizz, both have dry ice and popping pearls. With these special effects, they are a hit for the whole family.

In Disneyland, we travel to Star War’s Galaxy’s Edge to visit Oga’s Cantina. We highly recommend you MAKE AN ADVANCE RESERVATION, as walk-in availability is very limited. Reservations for Oga’s Cantina can be made up to 14 days in advance. Additional same-day reservations will be made available each day at 7:00 AM Pacific Time for visits that day, and are subject to availability.
Your Teen’s or Tweens may also enjoy reading the Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire Comic Book Series before they go to Galaxy’s Edge. In the series, they will walk the ancient streets, meet the colorful characters, and uncover the secret history of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
In Oga’s Cantina, the kids loved the Carbon Freeze, not only for the name and the flavor but also for the dry ice and Popping Boba Pearls special effects. The Carbon Freeze Drink is a POWERADE® Lemon Lime with Wild Strawberry, Blueberry and Green Apple Popping Boba Pearls.
In order to make the drinks, we did need to find some special tools and glasses to create the drinks at home. The first piece of equipment we needed where the Specialty Glasses, they actually come in two parts, so you can add the Dry Ice easily inside and they are easy to clean. We found smaller size glass, and we are still on the lookout for the taller glasses, if we do find them we will add the link to our post.
The next items we purchased were specialty gloves. We purchased two different types of gloves to try. The first glove is called the Atlas 300L fit 300 Work Glove it is for handling Dry Ice. The second glove we purchased is the Level 5 cut-resistant glove, it is good for dry ice and to prevent cutting your hands when using sharp knives.
In the Parks they use the JetChill™ Dry Ice System, it is really amazing! At home, we purchased Penguin Brand Dry Ice (which is food grade dry ice) at our local grocery store and used a meat tenderizer/mallet to break it into smaller pieces to add with our gloves and tongs into our drink glasses. You may be able to find a local vendor who sells dry ice pellets and those would work great in the glasses as well. PLEASE REVIEW THE WARNINGS BEFORE USING DRY ICE
In Disney’s California Adventure we enjoyed Brunch at Lamplight Lounge in Pixar Pier. The kids had to order their favorite, the Infinity Fizz. The Infinity Fizz is POWERADE® Mountain Berry Blast, Apple Juice, and Cherry-Flavored Popping Boba Pearls.
We had so much fun recreating these drinks at home. The kids actually mixed a lot of different flavors together and different popping pearls to create their own unique drinks. Please make sure you follow all Safety Guidelines for Dry Ice. We would love to hear how you enjoyed making these drinks with your families.

To purchase your dry ice quickly, it may be easier to find a local grocery store that sells them in blocks, as opposed to a specialty store that may be further away that sells it in pellets.
We easily broke apart the ice with a meat tenderizer/mallet while it was still inside the plastic bag.
This saved us a lot of driving time to find a. specialty store, and it worked out great!

For extra safety when using Dry Ice, please read the Dry Ice Safety Brochure from Penguine Brand™ Dry Ice Everyday Uses and Handling Guide.

I am so excited to try this at home! I love the Infinity Fizz, but my kids haven’t tried it yet. It will be so fun to make with them! Thanks guys.
Thank you, Amanda! Please let us know how your kids enjoy making them at home. We started with the original flavors, but the kids enjoyed making their own creations also. We hope you have as much fun as we did!
